The Yaka Codex

The challenge to Yaka must be issued before at least two witnesses and the challenged party must consent to yaka.

The respective parties and their communes must first meet to seek non-violent resolution.

The choice of weapons, armor, and of time of the duel belong to the challenged. Only mechanical weapons like the fists, clubs, swords, spears, bows and rocks are permitted: no chemical weapons such as guns, poison, grenades, fire, etc… are allowed.

Yaka must take place under the purview of a duel committee composed of supporters of both parties. The duel committee make arrangements for weapons, battle-site, referees, referee armaments, medical care, transportation, and the safety of spectators and innocent bystanders including local flora and fauna.

If one of the parties surrenders and concedes, the yaka ends.
